Activity Planner Appointment

We are delighted to announce the appointment of an Activity Planner for Brackley Town Hall Restoration Project.

Following the successful bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, the team has been busy behind the scenes preparing for the start of the physical works which should be on site during the second half of 2016.  One exciting development is the appointment of Sally Munday-Webb as Activity Planner for the project. Sally will be responsible for developing and delivering a wide range of community engagement projects set out in an Activity Plan which accompanied the application to the HLF.

An Activity Plan is a programme of projects that are specifically designed to engage and educate a wide variety of people about heritage and in turn ensure that the heritage is better understood and protected in the future.  It complements the physical work being undertaken and helps to ensure the legacy of HLF investment goes beyond simply repairing buildings.  It should include a range of opportunities for local people and local businesses to get involved in heritage through education, training and leisure activities.

The Activity Plan for Brackley Town Hall has a range of activities for the local community, professionals and students to get involved with such as courses for local builders and students on the use of traditional building skills, photography courses and research into the history of the High Street.

Sally lived locally when she was growing up and has recently moved back to Brackley with her young family. She has fantastic experience of working in similar positions most recently with the Science Museum in London and chairing a heritage volunteer managers group for all of the great museums on the famous Exhibition Road. Sally will be starting with us in January 2016 and will be working alongside the Town Council and South Northamptonshire Volunteer Bureau for the duration of the project. We look forward to welcoming her onto the team.

The exciting range of projects for the community to get involved with will start in the New Year, more information will be available on the project website (, facebook page ( and twitter account (@bracktownhall). You can also sign up to the project e-newsletter ( for updates or look on the Town Council notice board or in Brackley Town Talk.
